🗣️ The Results Are In! Earlier this week, Aircare Health launched a poll on which factor YOU think has the greatest impact on a country’s overall mental health and the results make it clear that there is not ONE correct answer (link to poll in comments). Some countless reports and metrics evaluate #MentalHealth rates across the world and consider a wide array of factors, including GDP per capita, healthcare access, blue zones, active lifestyles, social support networks, suicide rates, and MUCH more… …and while all of these factors should be considered to get the full picture of a country’s mental health, each report/index/questionnaire looks at these factors differently and with different significance. Proving that there is not ONE clinically proven gold rule on how to measure a country’s mental health, and while one report finds X, another report may find Y – and both are likely valid! All of that is to say we did notice ONE consistent trend across the countries that ranked high on any mental health measurement: 💡 Happiness and community are built into the very fabric of each and every society 💡 Stay tuned for next week when we’ll be digging in… #MentalHealthMatters #GDP #MentalWellbeing #HealthcareAccess #MentalHealthAwareness #ActiveLifestyle #WorkplaceWellness #MentalHealth

3-in-4 US workers experience workplace stress in a month leading to emotional exhaustion, lower productivity and ineffectiveness, while chronic stress can lead to physical and psychological problems, from heart disease to insomnia. So... what can companies do to combat workplace stress? As cited in this Fortune Well article, Jaclyn Wainwright cites the importance of building a sense of community at your workplace to help identify when a colleague is struggling: “People who are suffering from mental health problems, diagnoses, disorders often have an inability to raise their hand and ask for help,” Wainwright said. “They almost require a group of people around them to understand that they are not OK, to recognize that they are struggling. And they certainly can’t have that happen in a vacuum.” https://lnkd.in/einKVX9Q #employeewellness #healthandwellbeing #workplacestress

Thank you Roberta Antoine D., James Hereford and the entire Medical Alley team for putting on such a wonderful event last week at U.S. Bank stadium. Aircare CEO Jaclyn Wainwright was joined by Brooke Shields to discuss how the entire healthcare community must turn mental health awareness into action in the presence of such influential healthcare companies as Fairview Health Services, Allina Health | Aetna, Medtronic, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, GE HealthCare, Genentech, Philips and many, many more. Minnesota has always been a locus of innovation in medicine and physical health, and will lead innovation in mental health in the decades to come.
