This coveted position has room for significant growth as the FINOP/Controller will be given the opportunity to grow into the role as the firms CFO within the first year of being hired.     Our client who is a Self-Clearing Broker-Dealer in the New York Metropolitan area is seeking a highly motivated, talented candidate with a minimum of 2 to 4 years of accounting experience at a Self-Clearing Broker-Dealer. This position provides analytical and accounting assistance to the Financial Control team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a willingness to grow and learn about all aspects of financial reporting as it relates to a Self-Clearing Broker-Dealer. EASY Apply Here: Responsibilities: Process monthly / quarterly journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Perform monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations for profit and loss and balance sheet accounts. Prepare ad-hoc reports for senior management pertaining to financial reporting. Work collaboratively with multiple process owners across the organization to ensure complete and accurate accounting. Participate in the documentation and improvement of accounting processes. Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 2 - 4 years of experience in an accounting department. Extensive experience using MS Excel. Must be able to work with large amounts of data including Pivot tables, Lookups and a wide range of formulas. Working with accounting software, preferably Oracle. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive assignments. Excellent research and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively seek solutions. Salary: $ 80,000 - $ 100,000 The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
