The session will be hosted by Helen Carter, Lead Consultant at Action Sustainability and will feature discussion with two Lived Experience Consultants from Align Ltd who together have lived experience of modern slavery, forced labour, debt bondage and human trafficking.
The first consultant passionately advocates for change and enhances survivor support in modern slavery prevention. She actively contributes to modern slavery guidance, policy, and research, collaborating on projects like 'RESTART' with the University of Aberystwyth and Trilateral Research.
The second consultant is deeply committed to amplifying the voices of the vulnerable, particularly survivors of modern slavery. She is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student and a member of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP), they aspire to raise awareness and prevent modern slavery through their education and advocacy efforts.
This conference will showcase best practices in modern slavery remediation, highlighting how survivors need to be at the centre of any organisation’s modern slavery remediation strategy.
