About us

For more than forty years, AlixPartners has helped businesses around the world respond quickly and decisively to their most critical challenges – circumstances as diverse as urgent performance improvement, accelerated transformation, complex restructuring and risk mitigation. These are the moments when everything is on the line – a sudden shift in the market, an unexpected performance decline, a time-sensitive deal, a fork-in-the-road decision. But it’s not what we do that makes a difference, it’s how we do it. Tackling situations when time is of the essence is part of our DNA – so we adopt an action-oriented approach at all times. We work in small, highly qualified teams with specific industry and functional expertise, and we operate at pace, moving quickly from analysis to implementation. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our clients until the job is done, and only measure our success in terms of the results we deliver. Our approach enables us to help our clients confront and overcome truly future-defining challenges. We partner with you to make the right decisions and take the right actions. Our mental health and wellbeing matters. At AlixPartners, our Well@Work initiative provides a range of supportive programs to ensure our people have what they need to thrive. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, Partner & Managing Director and Well@Work leader Jason McDannold shares his perspective on the power of prioritizing the wellbeing of our people: "I’ve learned that true contentment and lasting success come from within. While external stimuli, like work, play a role, we need to be anchored by something deeper. Taking time to recuperate after intense work periods, engaging in physical activities away from screens, or simply setting aside quiet moments to recenter can all strengthen our inner selves and allow us to face work challenges with joy. Prioritizing my mental health has become an integral part of my daily life, not just a means to keep going, but a core part of who I am. Well@Work is crucial in supporting mental health and wellness through various programs, local resources, and events aimed at breaking the stigma around mental health in our demanding profession. Resources alone aren’t enough if we don’t support each other. Empathy and responsiveness are key to fostering a supportive culture. The advice I give to others is to be attentive to early signs of burnout with your colleagues. When you recognize the need to help, view it as an opportunity to support and uplift your team member. Helping people during their toughest times will make them more capable and confident. The more we do this, the more we build genuine trust and a true culture of wellness."

Chieh Yin, a Director in our Consumer Products group, had little experience with food loss waste before serving as one of the principal researchers and authors of a report on food loss published in partnership with the Consumer Goods Forum. The team found that the cost of food loss and surplus was up to 50% higher than the regularly cited value of $1 trillion. But it was not that headline-grabbing number that most surprised Chieh but rather the opportunity the existed for companies to tackle the issue. "From the very beginning of the research process, when we interviewed sustainability leaders at large companies, it was evident that no one truly believed the current methods of measuring waste were comprehensive. What did surprise me, considering the financial and sustainability implications, was how underdeveloped and inconsistent companies were in tracking and quantifying food waste, both in terms of financial cost and waste patterns." The report also found that the financial impact of food loss is likely to increase significantly due to projected rises in greenhouse gas emissions costs. ‘We’re already seeing the impact of higher GHG costs. Companies in the EU and UK, where there is a higher cost of carbon utilization, have been leading the way developing calculators and protocols to track and mitigate waste. There is a real competitive advantage to get ahead of the projected cost increases and invest in tracking and managing food loss today.” Read the report here: https://alix.click/4eqYalV Learn more about Chieh here: https://alix.click/3ZMjLkg
