About us

All About Cats Rescue and Adoption believes it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats by placing them in loving permanent homes. We will spay and neuter the cats that we rescue prior to adoption plus provide any necessary medical care. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of cat sterilization, responsible cat ownership and the humane treatment of animals. Our mission is to reach out to the communities, veterinarians and animal welfare organizations to save the lives of homeless, sick, injured cats and kittens. This is achieved by compassionately rescuing, providing shelter, fostering, adopting, providing hospice and veterinary services, in order to end needless feline euthanasia in our community, with the ultimate objective, to have every cat or kitten, be wanted, loved, and find their forever home.

  • Did you know that today is National Black Cat Day, a day to honor and celebrate us, the best little mini-panthers in the world?! -Raven Lee That’s right, Raven Lee! Today is a well-deserved day to honor and celebrate you!  And to help us honor fabulous mini panthers, here are some fun facts about black cats. There are more male black cats than female black cats.  Male kittens inherit their fur color from their mothers so a male born to a black female will be black too. The coloring of the father will be involved but the dominant black gene will always rule. Most black cats have yellow (golden) eyes which is due to their genetic makeup.  True onyx-hued cats produce a lot of melanin.  This pigment makes their coats black and their eyes a captaining amber shade which is an extremely rare eye color in humans. There are 22 breeds that come with black coats and some black cats aren’t actually pure black only the Bombay.  Some of the coat color patterns are actually a combination of three basic colors such as black, white and red. Some parts of the world (like England, Scotland or Japan) consider black cats good luck but unfortunately, many still associate them with misfortune and bad luck. Fishermen and their wives saw black cats as good luck (or a safe journey) with the added benefit of fewer rats. They welcomed them aboard their ships and in their homes.  Black cats became so highly valued that some could not afford them.   Researchers at the National Institute of Health discovered that the genetic mutation that causes a cat’s fur to be black also protects them from certain diseases. Research by ASPCA show that black cats are least likely to be adopted but thanks to black panther more house panthers have been able to find their furrever homes. If you are in the market for a new cat, please consider a black cat like Raven Lee, you can learn more about them on the black cat page of our website. As the age-old saying goes, if you cross paths with a black cat, stop and pet it! #nationalblackcatday #blackcatawarenessday #adoptablackcat

  • It may seem like a small gesture to you, but to one cat it could mean the entire world. So take a moment, show them love, genuine care, and generosity - because that one brief moment could easily change a cat’s trajectory of life. Our volunteers have always recognized that even the smallest acts of kindness will truly make a big difference in the world. And fittingly today is nationally recognized as Make a Difference Day. A day that is a perfect time to step up to “make a difference.” A difference that you can easily make in many different ways whether it’s financial or of your physical time. Please consider adopting one of our available cats or kittens (website link in bio) and if adoption is not feasible, please consider fostering one of our cats in need. If fostering isn’t a good option then we have several ways to volunteer with our rescue. Visit the volunteer pages of our website to learn more about the volunteer opportunities available with our organization and fill out a volunteer application if you are interested in becoming a volunteer with All About Cats. Those who do not have the time to volunteer are welcome to donate to support our cause. Be assured that 100% of the tax-free donation will go to support our cats. Visit the donate pages of our website to make a donation. Everyone else can spread the word and educate others about our rescue efforts. #MakeADifferenceDay #caturday #catsinneed #kindnessmatters #animalwelfare #volunteer #donate #supportnonprofits

  • Black Cat Awareness Month is a wonderful time to consider adopting a black cat into your home. Black cats are lucky and they are so worthy of your attention and your heart. We celebrate their beauty and value while encouraging their adoption because everyone deserves the chance to be owned by a precious mini panther. In ancient Egyptian times, black cats were often viewed as divine creatures in whom the gods lived. The Irish believed that finding a black cat on the porch was good luck, and the Japanese hold black cats in high esteem as symbols of prosperity. Black cats deserve to be adopted like all cats but they are often dismissed out of misled beliefs, fears, or silly superstitions. As the age-old saying goes, if you happen to cross paths with a black cat, you should stop and take the time to pet the kitty - better yet think about adoption! Consider yourself lucky to be in the presence of a beautiful and magnificent mini panther! If you are looking for a feline friend, we hold adoption events every Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM in the Adoption Center inside the Roswell PetSmart. Additional adoption times can be made by appointment only with an approved application. Please click the link in our bio to view the profiles of our available kitties (updated frequently) and fill out an application if interested in adoption. Don’t forget to check out the black cat page on our website to learn more about the virtues of black cats. #blackcatawarenessmonth #blackcatsrule #adoptablackcat
