In preparation for Milton, Genesis Systems and Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration moved one of these units, called the WaterCube 1000, to a storm shelter outside of Tampa. On Thursday morning, when AHCA was assessing hospitals affected by Milton, the agency made the decision to move the machine to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. “There’s a very high number of NICU babies that are being treated in that facility,” Jason Weida, secretary of the AHCA says. Without water, a hospital may be forced to evacuate patients. “It’s very hard to evacuate NICU babies. It’s very time consuming, very tricky, and it can be risky.” https://lnkd.in/e98ekqHK

A fuel depot set up Saturday at the campus of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg gave out more than 10,000 gallons over the weekend.
