Dr. Luis Ortiz, a sleep medicine physician from Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, tells Yahoo Life there is only limited clinical evidence to support claims that the smell of limes helps people sleep; most of that is preliminary research that hasn’t undergone rigorous study yet, he says. Ortiz says it is possible that the aroma of citrus may help people calm down and relax before bed, and there is limited clinical evidence to support the benefits of aromatherapy in sleep. https://lnkd.in/dGUPcPbu

In preparation for Milton, Genesis Systems and Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration moved one of these units, called the WaterCube 1000, to a storm shelter outside of Tampa. On Thursday morning, when AHCA was assessing hospitals affected by Milton, the agency made the decision to move the machine to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. “There’s a very high number of NICU babies that are being treated in that facility,” Jason Weida, secretary of the AHCA says. Without water, a hospital may be forced to evacuate patients. “It’s very hard to evacuate NICU babies. It’s very time consuming, very tricky, and it can be risky.” https://lnkd.in/e98ekqHK

Regional hospitals set up makeshift gas stations on hospital campuses this weekend, providing free gas to ensure their doctors, nurses and other employees have enough fuel to drive to work. A fuel depot set up Saturday at the campus of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg gave out more than 10,000 gallons over the weekend. In addition to hospital workers, fuel was also offered to other medical workers, said hospital spokesperson. https://bit.ly/3ZZy5WG
