An exciting time for the Pittsburgh region, on the heels of Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. groundbreaking for their new switchgear facility in Beaver County, we are highlighting their President & CEO, Tricia Breeger. At our recent Annual Meeting, she shared insights with the crowd — including our nation’s unprecedented power demand, technology innovations, and MEPPI’s expansion plans — citing their commitment to growth in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Expanding energy innovation and production across the southwestern Pennsylvania region is not only crucial in meeting energy demands but leading in sustainable solutions that can power our future. We participated in Carnegie Mellon University Energy Week and gained insight into how we can harness our expertise in artificial intelligence to help solve some of the biggest challenges in energy. 

Our CEO Stefani Pashman joined an energizing lineup of speakers this week at the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s membership meeting. With a robust industry legacy and a bright future ahead, we see #energy as a “big bet” for our region – one that positions us to have a national and global impact on the future of power generation, grid resilience, and energy innovation. Partnerships are at the core of all we do, and we thank MSC for being a vital partner and for inviting us to address their members to discuss our regions’ big bets. Together, we can tackle energy challenges and develop solutions to fuel economic growth and opportunity. ⚡ 📈

On KDKA 1020, The Big K Morning Show, our Chief Growth Officer Matt Smith highlights a massive win for the region — the recent in-market expansion of Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. in Beaver County. The new switchgear facility will help us meet our region's growing demand for electricity and is a prime example of the importance of technology as part of our 'big bets' energy strategy. Our team joined Allegheny Conference member PNC and The Thread for a special talk with Shark Tank ABC’s Daymond John, who shared tips for overcoming challenges in business and how to rein in success. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with businesses in the room and foster our own dedication to partnership and collaboration for building an economically competitive Pittsburgh region. 

It was a ground-breaking day for southwestern Pennsylvania as Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. turned dirt on the site of their new factory in Beaver County. The expansion of their operations in our region will allow them to develop switchgear and power electronics solutions that MEPPI provides, which are essential for meeting the growing demand for electricity.⚡ Their investment in our region is a commitment to the growth of existing businesses, and we look forward to supporting their efforts to reaffirm the Pittsburgh region as a global energy leader.

We were honored to host a roundtable discussion with Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton yesterday. We tackled topics like the upcoming state budget, issues impacting our regional and state economy, investments that have enhanced our commonwealth’s business conditions, and what’s on the horizon to make PA even more competitive. 📈 🏆   Thank you to the Speaker and to our members and partners in attendance: PPG, Comcast, Covestro, Pittsburgh Life Sciences Alliance, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, and Eat'n Park Hospitality Group.

The longevity and experience of the Allegheny Conference means that other regions look to us to learn about our “secret sauce” of public-private partnership, impact, and collaborative leadership. Yesterday, our CEO Stefani Pashman had the honor of sharing our story with Newark on a panel with Todd Rufo from Bloomberg Associates, Ras Baraka, Mayor of the City of Newark, and Lata Reddy from Prudential Financial.
