We want to thank ARS Pharmaceuticals, Inc.Viatris and Kaléo for donating epinephrine to the hurricane ravaged areas of North Carolina as well as FOODiversity for raising funds to send allergy friendly foods to those impacted by the hurricane. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the allergy community faces heightened challenges. Disrupted environments have increased exposure to allergens, including stinging insects as well as isolation and limited resources have made it extra challenging for families relying on allergen-friendly and gluten-free foods. This is all happening while access to critical medications like epinephrine, asthma inhalers, and other essential medications remains strained.    • ARS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. donated 1,700 neffy prescriptions (two devices per pack). These epinephrine nasal spray devices will be delivered to the United Way North Carolina chapter and distributed to EMS groups and the most impacted areas. Anyone seeking access to epinephrine can contact United Way North Carolina directly at www.unitedwaync.org. • Kaléo has donated 2,000 AUVI-Q epinephrine auto-injectors to Direct Relief in support of their hurricane response efforts to be distributed to areas in need. • FOODiversity is coordinating allergy-friendly donations through their Disaster Relief Fund: https://lnkd.in/g-nkvfDX.      "In times of crisis, it’s the collective power of organizations and communities that makes a real difference. Whether it’s the generous donations of epinephrine or individuals like you and me who donate allergen-friendly food, we’re seeing a remarkable outpouring of support that will undoubtedly save lives." – Wendy Gordon Pake, President and Founder of the nonprofit FOODiversity.    Please help spread the word to those in need.

Navigating personal hygiene product labels can be overwhelming with the mix of Latin, English, and chemical names. 🌿🧪 The International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) standardizes these labels to create consistency across products worldwide, but this can make them intimidating. 🔎Understanding these names is key to spotting hidden allergens. ➡️Swipe to learn how to decode these labels and protect yourself! 🌿 Latin Names: To avoid confusion across languages, botanical ingredients are listed in Latin. For example, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil). Always research these names to learn if they’re an allergen. 🧪 Chemical Names: Synthetic or naturally derived chemicals use scientific names like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Research these to determine if they originate from allergens.
