If you’ve followed New York’s art, fashion, food or real estate scene over the past year, you’re probably in the know about WSA, the ultra-cool building in Lower Manhattan that’s been championed as a “total reimagining of the modern office.” Part of that reimagining – in addition to the artful interiors, chic clientele, an in-house florist and complimentary morning matcha service – includes free exhibitions by Water Street Projects, the building’s non-profit cultural organization. On view now through October 20, Water Street Projects launched two new shows situated within the new skyscraper’s purpose-built flexible exhibition spaces. The unveiling of exhibitions “Group Hug” and “YES, CHEF” mark an exciting new era for the already-fascinating space. More details here: https://lnkd.in/e3-hbE68

The response was overwhelmingly positive: working in an accessible, vibrant and safe neighborhood is key for employee satisfaction and willingness to come back to the office. Lower Manhattan is and will continue to be a highly competitive location for businesses. The neighborhood’s exceptional transit access, diverse office stock and attractive public spaces are only part of the story. Read the complete report below:

It was an honor to represent the Alliance for Downtown New York at the recent Placemaking Week Europe in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was an incredible gathering of over 700 participants from 80 countries exchanging ideas with the mission of creating better cities. The conference included insightful workshops, sessions, and city tours that provoked thoughtful discussions and sparked new perspectives. I walked away with invaluable lessons from presentations led by speakers, such as Mark Davy of Futurecity, Alice Cabaret from The Street Society, Levente Polyak of Eutropian, Anouk Braune from Natural Networks, and Matthew Gollan and Andrew Coward representing Reactivate Consulting. Thank you to Ramon Marrades and Rosaria Battista of Placemaking Europe for your role in my ability to attend this year's event. Looking forward to next year!

Our next LM Live event takes a direct look into the complex journalistic effort behind some of today's most popular true crime media. Acclaimed journalists Robert Kolker (“Lost Girls”, “Hidden Valley Road”) and Jessica Pressler (“The Hustlers at Scores,” “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People”) will be in conversation on the evolving landscape of investigative journalism. The two will examine how podcasts and streaming services are reshaping long-form reporting and explore society's fascination with dark topics like true crime, scams and mental health issues. The event is free to attend with an RSVP. Learn more:
