After taking some time this weekend to dive into the Alltech Sustainability Report 2023, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a team. Under the strong commitment and leadership from Alltech, we continue to push the boundaries of sustainability, and I’m excited for what lies ahead in 2024 as we strive to make an even bigger impact on our ESG goals. As someone deeply involved in aquaculture, I want to highlight some of our major accomplishments related to SDG 14: Life Below Water: 🌊 Innovative Aquaculture Solutions: Alltech Coppens is paving the way by cutting phosphorus emissions through smarter feed solutions and improving fish performance with net-energy models. ♻️ In 2023, 73% of our marine ingredients were sourced from trimmings, with the remaining 27% coming from sustainably certified wild-catch fish. We’re transforming waste into valuable, sustainable feed. 🌍 Our Alltech E-CO2 Aqua EA model is setting new benchmarks in reducing the carbon footprint of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), driving more sustainable fish farming practices. We’re excited to see it being put forward for Carbon Trust certification in 2024, further validating our commitment to environmental excellence 🎉 I’m also proud that Alltech’s Springfield operation and Alltech Coppens aquaculture feed plant were recognized with EcoVadis Platinum and Gold medals respectively, reflecting our dedication to sustainability at every level. Additionally, we’ve made strides in packaging by reducing polypropylene use by 231.55 grams per 1-tonne bag, which led to an annual reduction of 1.556 kg of plastic and 2.966 kg of CO2 emissions—all while increasing packaging efficiency by 4% with the same environmental footprint. 📦✨ Looking ahead, I’m confident that with the ongoing support of our leadership, we’ll achieve even more in 2024. Together, we’re creating a greener, more sustainable future! See our impact. https://lnkd.in/gd2g-j7G #Alltech#AlltechAqua#sustainability#planetofplenty#aquaculture
