Eyes on the EASA Safety Conference in Budapest! (link to the event in the comments) This year, attention is centred on a panel discussion about the role of technology in enhancing aviation safety, including #eMCO. This is one of the first public discussions of its kind held by #EASA. As frontline aviation professionals, we are closely following what the industry has to say about our future. ECA President Capt. Otjan de Bruijn says; "Technology has undeniably brought positive changes to aviation. Pilots welcome these advancements, but as regular users of flight deck automation and other tools, we know that technology is not infallible." “European pilots’ stance is clear: Technology cannot replace humans on aircraft. Two pilots operate as a team, forming a crucial safety pillar on board – monitoring systems, detecting errors, and mitigating potential hazards before they escalate – as well as managing safety incidents when things go wrong. In aviation, we have at least two engines, two generators, two hydraulic systems, two navigation receivers, and two pilots at the controls." #OneMeansNone #safetystartswith2 #ReducedCrewOperations
