About us
The Alpha Companies, including Alpha IR Group and Alpha Advisory Group, work to promote and protect corporate and investment brands by amplifying their stories and bridging the gap between IR and PR. We ground our work in research and analytics, with a clear focus on client service. Our leaders have big agency experience, but we established the Alpha companies to focus more on delivering value and results rather than maximizing fees. Our work includes strategic investor relations consulting, corporate reputation strategy, stakeholder communications research, as well as transactions and special situations counsel. The Alpha companies are the right choice to manage clients’ reputations, credibility, and ultimately, their corporate brand. We’re headquartered in Chicago, with offices in New York, Boston, and Dallas.

We had a great time at #NACDSummit this week! Chris Hodges, Michael Cummings, Karen Keller and Tim Peters spent two action-packed days meeting other leaders in the industry, sharing insights, and learning from experienced management teams and board members on what matters most. Chris also participated in a panel discussion with Stephen Brown and Kimberly C. Petillo-Décossard on shareholder activism, and highlighted the need to plan during moments of inactivity to keep control of the narrative. “Companies will never have a perfect activism plan, but it is still important to put together a strategic response strategy in peace time before an activist materializes. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen a company take five days to respond to an activist, which is too late.” Read more about Chris’s panel discussion: https://lnkd.in/gNJh824J

Alpha is headed to Washington, D.C. for the #NACDSummit next week! We’re looking forward to sharing insights with other industry leaders and learning from a great lineup of speakers, including our very own Chris Hodges who will discuss how boards should navigate shareholder activism. We hope to see you there! Chris Hodges Michael Cummings Tim Peters Karen Keller
Thank you NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) for the opportunity to speak at the #NACDSummit next week! I’m excited to join Stephen Brown and Kimberly C. Petillo-Décossard for a discussion on Navigating Shareholder Activism in a Changing Landscape, as we explore the latest trends, key factors boards should consider, and the role IR and PR programs can have in managing activist campaigns. Activism is on track to hit a new high for the third year in a row – there couldn’t be a better time to have this conversation. https://lnkd.in/gvnU8QCb

Is Your Company Struggling to Secure Sell-Side Research Coverage? For small and micro-cap companies, getting noticed by traditional sell-side analysts is tougher than ever. With the shift in Wall Street dynamics, many companies are exploring corporate-sponsored research (aka 'Pay-for-Play') to boost visibility and investor engagement. At Alpha IR, we’ve seen how the sell-side landscape has evolved and we can help companies navigate these challenges. Our latest blog dives into when and why companies should consider paying for research coverage and the ROI it can deliver.

As Alpha predicted two years ago in this blog post (https://lnkd.in/gCDHgx4T), investor activism is accelerating globally and the number of “first time” activists is growing substantially. In today's blog featured below, we've updated data and took a deeper dive into the current state of activism. Additionally, our founder will be speaking at the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Summit on activism in October of this year and looks forward to seeing many of our Board friends and colleagues at the event in D.C.

Alpha IR Group reposted this
Owens & Minor, a global healthcare solutions company, agreed to acquire Rotech Healthcare, a provider of home medical equipment and related products and services, for $1.36bn. “Rotech squarely fits into our existing Patient Direct segment and directly aligns with the strategy we outlined last December during our Investor Day, supporting our expansion in the very large and fast-growing home-based care space. We are excited to acquire a high-quality company like Rotech, an opportunity that doesn’t come along very often, and I look forward to welcoming the Rotech teammates into the Owens & Minor family,” Ed Pesicka, Owens & Minor President and CEO. Rotech Healthcare is advised by Jefferies & Company and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP (led by Matthew Benedetto and Jeffrey Marell). Owens & Minor is advised by Citi, Kirkland & Ellis and Alpha IR Group (led by Jacqueline Marcus and Nicholas Teves). #MergersAcquisitionsDivestitures #Healthcare #MedicalEquipment
