Happy World Occupational Therapy Day! The theme for this year is, “Occupational Therapy for All.” The theme reflects the important role of the profession in facilitating the ability of individuals, communities, and populations to participate in the activities that they want, need, or are expected to do in their daily lives. Occupational therapy is a vital part of hospice. This form of therapy is used to help those recovering from physical or mental illnesses. We work to encourage rehabilitation to help with certain activities that are necessary for daily life. OTs play a crucial role in the hospice care team. They help identify significant life roles and activities that provide some meaning to patients. They’ll talk to the patient to find out what they want to accomplish and what’s most important to them. They also consider the available support systems and resources they may have to achieve those goals. Thank you, Occupational Therapist, for all the hard work that you do each day!

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet Allen, he shares with us his calling, "There is no doubt that God called me to be a part of Alpha Omega Hospice. I get to do what I do for Him and the families we get to serve" #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet Pastor Mike from our Fort Worth team. He has been a hospice chaplain for 24 years. He says, “I enjoy being there for my patients and families at the most important time of their lives. I believe it is a gift to be able to share the journey with them. I also pastor a church and being able to do ministry outside my church I know is my calling. Care has been a blessing to work for and I love my Alpha Omega Hospice family. Blessing.” #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet David from our Weatherford Office. He says, "I got into hospice almost 25 years ago. Or should I say, hospice called me. Out of seminary, I thought I wanted to be on a church staff. But God had different plans for my life. After finishing CPE (Clinical Patient Education) at graduation one of the board members at the hospital was also a board member of a local hospice group. She hired me on the spot and stuck me in a pediatric hospice in Dallas, TX. I’ve never looked back or questioned God's calling." #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

This week we want to take the time to celebrate and educate you for Spiritual Care Week! Spiritual care can be a wide range of different cultures and religions. The theme this year is “Chaplains Beyond Religious Roles.” These colleagues wear so many different hats and our team would be incomplete without our Chaplains. Help us show them some love this week! #OurCareFamily #SpiritualCareWeek #ChaplainsBeyondReligiousRoles

Today we want to remind you to schedule your mammograms. Did you know that a mammogram can often detect a problem before there is any outward physical sign? All women over 40 years old are recommended to have a mammogram yearly for preventative measures. #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #PreventativeCare #WomenHealth #KnowYourRisk #ScheduleYourMammogram #BreastCancerAwareness #ScreeningSavesLives
