A message from the #WalkALSGeorgia Team: Thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s WalkALS Georgia! What an incredible day it was. Here’s a quick recap of the 2024 WALK by the numbers... - 2,000+ walk participants - 188 walk teams - 63 ALS Hero teams - 168 volunteers - 15 corporate partners - 3,464 donors And together... you helped us raise over $475,000 towards our $550,000 fundraising goal! We are so grateful for your continued support. Whether this was your first year (like Team Murphy) - or your 20th (like Fred’s First Down Pack), we are overwhelmed by your support and are honored to be able to serve our ALS families in their time of need. Thank you for making that possible! Walk Day may be over, but our work doesn’t stop until we find a CURE. We will continue working towards our 2024 fundraising goal of $550,000 for families with ALS through the end of our fiscal year - January 31st. It’s that time of year and we are looking for volunteers for our annual WalkALS Georgia. It will be held at Georgia State Stadium (Old Turner Field) this year on Saturday 09/21/24 from 7a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Volunteer roles include assisting with set-up, registration, passing out t-shirts, handing out water, monitoring the route and cheering on the attendees as they complete the Walk. Tomorrow, as part of Rare Disease Day, the House Health Subcommittee will hold a Legislative Hearing on Rare Disease Bills at 10 AM. Several pieces of legislation will be discussed that may have an impact on those living with ALS, in particular H.R. 5663, ALS Better Care Act sponsored by Reps. Schakowsky, Quigley, and Fitzpatrick.
