  • Ever wonder why some people seem to achieve more while working less? What if the key to true productivity isn’t in doing more, but in knowing when to step back? In today’s culture, "productivity" often gets misinterpreted as nonstop action. We’re praised for pushing through exhaustion, working long hours, and forgoing vacations in the name of success. But is this constant grind truly productive, or does it just feel like it is? The truth is that constant work without rest leads to burnout, lowered creativity, and decreased efficiency. Our brains and bodies need time to recharge. When we allow ourselves to rest, we can return with fresh ideas, renewed focus, and enhanced problem-solving abilities. Studies consistently show that taking regular breaks, prioritizing sleep, and actually taking that vacation increase productivity, creativity, and overall job satisfaction. Rest isn’t the enemy of productivity—it’s a critical part of it. By embracing a rhythm of work and rest, we can shift from the illusion of productivity to a sustainable, balanced approach that fuels true progress and well-being. So, next time you think about skipping that break, remember: you’re not just investing in yourself; you’re investing in your best work too. #worklifebalance  #selfcare #productivitytips #mindfulliving #mindfulness  #restandrecharge #resttothrive  #sustainablesuccess #takethebreak

  • Just published! My latest article dives into the power of dreaming as the first step toward success, inspired by Richard Boyatzis's Intentional Change Theory. Boyatzis highlights how intrinsic motivation—the force behind our ideal selves—drives growth and achievement. Imagine expanding this concept to the organizational level: What if we encouraged not just personal, but collective dreaming within our teams? Transformational leadership, which centers on amplifying the aspirations of our people, offers a path to create organizations that flourish. By fostering an environment where team members’ dreams contribute to a shared vision, leaders can unlock new levels of innovation, motivation, and growth. If you’re ready to take your coaching and leadership skills to the next level, I invite you to join our coaching course accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Altitude, in partnership with Paradigm21 Executive Leadership Coaching Academy, will launch new cohorts this January. This program is designed to help you develop essential coaching skills and create a culture that empowers others to dream and achieve. Are you ready to lead by empowering dreams? Let’s elevate our potential together. The best way to start is always from a place of clarity. Knowing what is important to you and what you value in a working relationship is vital to solving this enigma. I suggest starting with these three priorities: ✨ Companies with potential for growth and expansion ✨ Companies whose culture and values align with your own ✨ Companies with a strong leadership team that can mentor and coach you for growth However, it is crucial that you identify your top three categories and remain faithful and focused on them. What's a priority for some may not be for others; the key is developing clear criteria that resonate with you. And a quick reminder about creating criteria: as you evolve and gain more experience in life and work, your criteria deserve to be updated accordingly. (We sometimes can forget that!) #careerclarity #jobsearchtips #workplaceculture #organizationalculture #companyvalues #careerdevelopment #growthmindset

  • A few months ago, I received one of those unforgettable calls—the kind that reminds you why you do this work. A client of mine, overwhelmed with joy, shared some fantastic news: she had just landed an interview! She was emotional, full of gratitude, and honestly, I was too. She had been feeling uncertain after a conversation with an external recruiter, convinced it hadn’t gone as well as she’d hoped. But then came the message that changed everything: “They were blown away by your resume and definitely want to meet with you.” Hearing those words melted my heart. This talented, hardworking woman had been through so much, including an unfair layoff right after becoming a mother. It was painful to witness such incredible talent go unappreciated by her former employer. As I learned more about her achievements, I couldn’t help but wonder, “How could they let her go?” Though she went through two rounds of interviews and didn’t land that particular job, I knew it was only a matter of time before someone would recognize her value. Sure enough, she is now thriving as a property manager with a company that not only aligns with her values but also respects her need for work-life balance as a mom to a young toddler. To all the mothers out there: if your company doesn't see your worth or penalizes you for being a mom, they don't deserve you. You are valuable. There are organizations that will recognize your skills, respect your needs, and honor your role as both a professional and a mother. Don’t settle for less. If you’re facing a similar situation, trust that better opportunities are ahead. Sometimes, what feels like a setback is just the beginning of something incredible. Keep moving forward—you’ve got this! And I’m here to support you every step of the way. Erica Yanney, Career Coach #mom #career #worklifebalance #resume #leadership #corporateculture #careercoaching

  • I love the concept of a toolbox. Whether you're into home improvement, cooking, woodworking, or any craft, you know that your toolbox is never truly complete. There's always room for one more tool, right? New tools evolve, improve, and sometimes perfectly match a specific challenge. Some tools fade, while others transform your productivity. Now, imagine applying that same principle to your career. Just like tools, continuous learning is key to growth. It empowers you to adapt, solve problems, lead effectively, and handle conflicts with confidence. Think of learning as the fuel that drives you forward—it’s not a chore, but the spark that keeps you sharp, innovative, and always improving. Let’s build your career toolbox together. Start with the right mindset and a personalized plan for growth and strategy. Ready to elevate your career? Reach out, and let’s get started. #continuouslearning #skilldevelopment #professionalgrowth #adaptability #problemsolving #teammanagement #lifelonglearning #tools

  • Need a little help shaping your message? You've got the raw talent, the potential, and a message to deliver. But are you taking the time to really craft it? Think about it: the difference between a masterpiece and something amateur lies in the details. Professionals take the time to hone their skills, perfect their technique, and pay attention to every little detail. They know how to tackle challenges because they've been through it all before. So, are you treating your message like a sculptor would? Is it: Clear? Concise? Tailored to the companies? Well-structured and polished? And most importantly, does it consider the perspective and needs of the person receiving it? If you were the recruiter, who would you choose? Someone who clearly invested time in crafting their message, or someone who wings it with no structure or thought? Become the artist of your own interviews. Wow them with a structured, polished message and leave a lasting impression. You've got this! And I'm here to support you every step of the way. • New career abroad? I've been there, too. Hey there, fellow immigrant! Let's be real—moving to a new country often feels less like building a career and more like starting over from scratch, doesn't it? I get it. You may have had an established career before you moved, or maybe you're using this fresh start to switch things up completely. Either way, your new work environment is different. There's so much to learn culturally, and building relationships comes with its own set of challenges and nuances. The level of adaptation goes far beyond just the workplace. Here's what I really want to say: Take the time to learn your new work culture with an open heart. And when I say open heart, I really mean it—because there will definitely be moments where you'll scratch your head, wondering why things are done a certain way. You might even think, "Back home, we handle this so much better." But trust me, there's plenty to admire in this new environment. Learning is exciting, and perhaps the magic lies in balancing what you already know with the freshness of a beginner's mind. It's in that space—where you're open, eager to learn, and ready to embrace the new—that your magic will truly shine.
