This week, the New York Times reported on a growing problem - hot temperatures impacting the efficacy of mail order medications. As temperatures continue to rise, Alto is proud to be an industry leader that’s designing resilient systems for an uncertain future. For every cold chain delivery, we apply thoughtful precautionary steps, including: 1.) We continuously test advanced packaging to ensure that we’re extending appropriate temperatures. Through our testing, we’ve confirmed that all of our medications stay the appropriate temperature throughout the entire local courier delivery process, and our enhanced packaging protects our overnight deliveries. 2.) Refrigerated medications are designated with a snowflake icon on patients’ medication list in the Alto app, and we provide patients with information to properly store them at home. 3.) Each delivery notification includes reminders that medications in the package must be refrigerated upon arrival.
