We have developed a deep understanding of adult tobacco consumers, the role tobacco products play in their lives and how they choose products and brands across a range of usage occasions. Understanding our consumers is critical for developing a portfolio of innovative smoke-free products to transition adult smokers to smoke-free alternatives. We’re encouraged to see in the National Youth Tobacco Survey results, published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that underage use of e-vapor products continues to decline. This is proof that taking actions to prevent underage use of tobacco products is working. At Altria, we’re taking action to help prevent underage use through: - supporting programs and organizations that positively influence kids and their decision not to engage in risky behaviors like tobacco use; - providing parents with tools to help them raise kids who don't use tobacco; - supporting trade programs, retailer training, and legislative efforts that help prevent underage access to tobacco products; and - taking steps designed to limit reach of their brands and marketing materials to unintended audiences. See the full results of the survey at https://ow.ly/CKNG50TnqE4 and learn more about how we’re committed to being part of the solution to preventing underage use at https://ow.ly/42eh50TnqE2

The great news: Recently the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published the 2024 National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) results. Their findings show a significant drop in the number of U.S. middle and high school students who reported (past 30 days) e-vapor use. The bad news: Illicit products and enforcement remain a big concern as illicit products are a major driver to youth usage of e-vapor products. According to the 2024 NYTS results, the top three e-vapor brands used by youth are illicit products. This thriving illicit market is a serious threat to both effective regulation and public health. Read the summary of the results at https://ow.ly/6USt50TnqCz and view our stance on improving enforcement against the illicit marketplace at https://ow.ly/BuOP50TnqCA
