A factory automation company and systems integrator needed a portable, operator friendly lifting solution to handle bins being dumped into a feeder system. Ergonomic considerations were made for every aspect of this lift dumper to ensure it can be safe and easy to operate. Alum-a-Lift engineers ensured that operators could move the bins as needed while keeping the design comfortable and efficient by calculating the worst-case loading conditions to validate factors of safety, as well as the amount of force necessary to move the lift probable distances and powered motions for loads that are heavy or out of reach. A technology company was looking for a cleanroom compliant (class 100) lifting solution to support optical fiber preforms of various sizes while operators apply a potting compound, then move into storage for curing. This Alum-a-Lift includes a precision clamp to grip the preforms at each end and hold horizontally to allow for preparatory work. The clamp can freely rotate 360°, and can be locked in any position to prevent mishandling or damage to the preform. A biopharmaceutical company requested a floor-mounted boom lift that would be bolted to the floor for use in handling chromatography lids at 881 pounds. This Alum-a-Lift has an IP65 rating making it dust-tight to withstand low-pressure washdowns and includes a single lifting boom with a four-point tether, central load-rated hoist ring and stainless steel chain. Additionally, to simplify their process, the end-effector is able to swivel from side to side at 180°. Handles were added to the lift to control the rotation and the base assembly includes a foot operated lock to hold equipment in a desired direction while staging a fluid carrier involved in the chromatography absorbing phase. Built for an aviation developer, this aircraft assembly workstation assists in many stages in the manufacturing of aerospace subassemblies by lifting and rotating aerospace components for assembly, inspection, and quality control. The dual channel fork set captivates the assemblies, once in place, locking pins installed through each fork secure the assemblies before lifting. A central floor-brake provides stability and allows the operator to safely rotate assemblies during inspection.
