As an Alzheimer's Association early-stage advisor, Ralph Carmona uses his voice to raise awareness and to give people hope for today and in the future. Ralph was diagnosed with Mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's in 2014. “Once I heard the diagnosis, my immediate reaction was to fight it,” Ralph said. And he is. In his role as early-stage advisor, Ralph taps into his lobbyist roots to advocate for legislation, like the BOLD Reauthorization Act, that empowers communities to better address Alzheimer's and other dementia and to improve brain health. He is passionate about improving access to dementia care across the country, especially in underrepresented and underserved communities. Ralph is also a big believer in participating in clinical trials to help advance dementia research, enrolling in two trials himself. Ralph recommends that anyone who has been diagnosed with MCI or dementia reach out to the Alzheimer's Association to get connected with others on this journey. You can join Ralph in making a difference. Go to alz.org/getinvolved today. #HispanicHeritageMonth

Blood tests that accurately and reliably detect Alzheimer’s could improve diagnosis in primary care, making testing more accessible and less invasive. They could also provide a quicker path to research participation and treatment. http://bit.ly/3WGPpxF
