A self-proclaimed runner of size, Chief People Officer Lauren (Wallace) Wright, EdD, SHRM-CP has been featured by Runner's World on a few occasions for her positive, inclusive approach to marathon training. 👟 🗣️"The first thing people think when you say 'I'm running a marathon' is 'but are you fast?' and it's like 'No, but I'm persistent. I have mental fortitude. I know I can do it.'" Her story reminds us that, with most things in life, it's not about speed—it's about endurance, heart, and finishing what you started. 🏁 The link to the full interview is in the comments, so check it out!

Congratulations to Bob Russell on his retirement after an incredible 41 years as a teacher with The Day School at The Children's Institute. 🎊 Reflecting on his time here, Bob says "I'll miss the people and working with the students. It really comes down to that." 🥹 In true Bob fashion, he's retiring with his signature easy-going attitude—summarized perfectly by his "whatever" tshirt. During COVID, Bob rolled with the punches, saying, "I might not like it, but whatever, it's what we gotta do, so we do it. That's typically what I do." Thank you, Bob, for everything you've done to make The Children's Institute a special place. Enjoy your well-earned retirement! 💚

Join us in congratulating Mary Beth Evans on her retirement! Today is her last day of work at The Day School at The Children's Institute after 36 years. "It seems like forever ago. A lot has changed in the building and in my life. My favorite part has been interacting with the kids and seeing them grow and improve. I'll miss it here, but I'm looking forward to retirement—I need to clean my house!" Thanks for being a steady presence for our kiddos, Mary Beth. We will miss you!
