Thank you WWD/Beauty Inc. for interviewing our founding partner, Carli Sapir, about the rise of tween period care products and educational content. Carli shares how stigma around menstrual health has been dismantled carving a more transparent, shame-free path for young women at the start of menstruation. "Menstrual health and wellness has been covered by stigma forever, and we're finally seeing the emergence of stigma-free and shame-free branding around menstruation," said Carli Sapir, founding partner at Amboy Street Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on women's health and seuxal health technology. "That creates opportunity for brands to advertise differently, which is especially important for young women who are beginning their menstruation journey." https://lnkd.in/eKDyKWBa

Today the Supreme Court ruled to preserve emergency abortion care in Idaho. This decision comes weeks after their decision to uphold full access to Mifepristone in states that allow telemedicine abortion care. Although these two rulings are merely “delays” and still leave the door open for attacks on abortion protection they are encouraging in the smallest sense. As a fund, Amboy Street Ventures is dedicated to preserving and democratizing access to critical care, including abortion access. On Tuesday, we had the honor of speaking alongside our standout portfolio company founder, Kiki Freedman, at Hey Jane. Hey Jane is revolutionizing the way women receive reproductive care, in a time and environment when access to this care is critical. Offering mail-in medication abortion, birth control, UTI, BV and STI treatments and more, Hey Jane ensures that women receive safe, private, convenient and trusted healthcare solutions, empowering them to make informed decisions about their bodies. Thank you Hey Jane for all that you do! Thank you to the event hosts: Dream Ventures Golden Hour Ventures Helen Weston

Today marks the two year anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a moment that has profoundly impacted the landscape of reproductive rights in the United States. This day serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for reproductive freedom and justice. The overturning of Roe v. Wade has led to significant changes in abortion access, with many states enacting restrictive laws that have made it increasingly difficult for women to obtain the care they need. This has not only affected the health and autonomy of countless women but has also highlighted the deep divisions within our society regarding reproductive rights. As we reflect on this anniversary, it is crucial to honor the generations of advocates who have fought tirelessly for reproductive freedom. Their efforts have shaped the lives and futures of many, and their legacies continue to inspire us to push forward.

Last week, our portfolio company, Evvy, hosted #EqualResearchDay event to celebrate the 31st anniversary of women's inclusion in clinical trials. The event brought together over 120 leaders from healthcare, policy, tech, media, and other fields to raise awareness about the gender health gap. Evvy went above and beyond by partnering with 46 innovative companies in the women's health sector and compiling 100 compelling facts about the Gender Health Gap. They launched a limited-edition coffee table book featuring these facts, which is available for purchase at EqualResearchDay.com. Despite significant progress, much work remains to be done. Currently, only 1% of healthcare research and innovation focuses on female-specific conditions outside of oncology, and women are diagnosed an average of four years later than men for over 700 diseases. Together, we must continue to push for more inclusive and equitable healthcare research. By raising awareness and driving innovation, we can close the gender health gap and ensure better health outcomes for everyone.
