This meeting was more than just a discussion; it was a collaborative step forward in transforming Illinois Route 3 into a safer, more vibrant, and economically robust corridor. Key highlights included: 📌 Safety First: Ideas flowed on enhancing intersection design, improving enforcement, and tackling distracted driving. 📌 Boosting Image: Participants emphasized the need for better landscaping, public art, and maintaining the corridor’s industrial heritage while celebrating community life. 📌 Economic Impact: Route 3 supports 4,500 jobs and links vital regional destinations, and the discussions underscored its role as a lifeline for industry and tourism. America's Central Port District is proud to partner with Madison County Employment and Training to hold its 2nd annual "Build Your Future" event! This is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school, or recent high school grads to spend a week this Summer becoming familiar with the trades and/or to start focusing in on what trade they want to pursue. Real hands-on, life skills will be learned under the careful instruction of seasoned professionals. Please share this with others who you know may be interested. This is a rewarding opportunity that may be the first step to an exciting, productive and well-paying career.
