The foundation of transformed and sustainable health care - lifestyle interventions for disease treatment and reversal.
About us
ACLM is the medical professional society for those dedicated to the advancement and clinical practice of Lifestyle Medicine as the foundation of a transformed and sustainable health care system. We are an internationally recognized provider of quality education and certification for those who seek to provide whole-person, root-cause care to patients. Unlike typical healthcare, lifestyle medicine focuses on collaborative patient-provider relationships and positive, evidence-based lifestyle changes as the basis of care. This broader range of treatment options empowers patients with hope and control over their health. Lifestyle Medicine is a branch of evidence-based medicine in which comprehensive lifestyle changes (including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, social support and environmental exposures) are used to help treat, reverse, and prevent the progression of many chronic diseases. For more info about Lifestyle Medicine, Membership, Events, etc., visit www.lifestylemedicine.org.

Today is World Mental Health Day! 🌍💚 Mental health is essential to overall well-being and influences how we think, feel, and act, yet it often goes unnoticed or unspoken. Seek help for yourself if needed and check in on those around you. Whether it's talking to a friend, reaching out to a mental health professional, or simply taking time for ourselves, every step counts. At ACLM, we believe that lifestyle interventions—such as nutrition, physical activity, and stress management—play a crucial role in enhancing mental health. Let's lift each other up and work towards a future where everyone feels safe to share their mental health journey. Remember, you are not alone. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Many people mistakenly believe that getting older means an inevitable decline in health. The assumption goes: as you age, illness is unavoidable, and there’s little you can do about it. In an opinion column published in The Hill this Wednesday, Dr. Richard Carmona, the 17th U.S. Surgeon General, challenges that notion. He points out that the growing number of lifestyle medicine clinicians are equipped to help people make lifestyle behavior changes now - changes that can greatly impact their long-term health and well-being.
