The long awaited $280 billion CHIPS and Science Act has been signed into law with $52 billion earmarked to boost domestic chip manufacturing. The bill was favored by both sides of the political isle and will certainly help already highly profitable chip companies steer operations to American shores. All parties’ intentions are good, but how will this large influx of funding affect the overall semiconductor industry? https://lnkd.in/gv77DKkR #chipshortage #semiconductor #AERI

As more companies move production and sourcing closer to home, it adds a new dynamic to procurement. This article shares a few interesting perspectives not often talked about near/on shoring. One is, is it making the supply chain more complicated as opposed to its goal of simplification? Companies are not completely getting rid of their offshore supply chain, so adding another source of supply at home may just be adding to the complication in the supply chain. Read about both the rewards and risks: https://lnkd.in/g2Vjdptg #ElectronicComponents
