👀 SEEN IN CHICAGO 👀 Veronica Ballard Cunningham, APPA Executive Director/CEO and APPA's Regional Probation Fellows (Andrea Henderson, Paul Hofmann, Les. P Schultz, Mark Stodola) were seen in Chicago to conduct training on the IDA (Impaired Driving Assessment) Differential Screening Assessment. 💡APPA's Regional Probation Fellows serve in four National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA (NHTSA) regions. Research shows that about one third of individuals convicted of impaired driving are repeat offenders. These are the individuals most likely to be placed under community supervision. These four Regional Probation Fellows will be able to provide a more focused approach in providing training (both ground and virtual), technical assistance and collaboration building to their region’s probation departments, courts, treatment providers, victim advocates, highway safety offices and DWI task forces. They are there to offer you assistance in addressing the unique challenges of the high-risk impaired driving population. ⬇️ Your Regional Probation Fellows can be contact by email, click the link below. https://lnkd.in/eJ4MgU55 #APPA #APPATraining #Probation #Parole #ProbationandParole #Corrections #CommunityCorrections #JusticeReform #JuvenileJustice #Recidivism #Reentry

⭐ From Incarceration to Inspiration ⭐ After facing the hardships of incarceration, and what began as a story of struggle has transformed into one of triumph. This story showcases the power of second chances, highlighting how one person’s transformation can inspire change and provide hope to countless others on the path to redemption. 🩵 Joe Denti was incarcerated for a total of 34 years at the Jefferson City Correctional Center - from age 16 to age 50. Now, he's giving back to his community and its pets as a veterinary technician, made possible by his nearly 15 years as a participant in a restorative justice program called Missouri Puppies for Parole. "The transition from incarceration to society is somewhat kind of difficult," Denti says. "I have been blessed in having support from people who care, but at the end of the day, though, Cookie is by my side. She's helped me through a lot." #APPA #Probation #Parole #Corrections #CommunityCorrections #JustiveReform #Reentry #Recidivism
