APPA's Smart Energy Provider (SEP) program seeks nominations for one open seat on the SEP Panel. The SEP Review Panel guides APPA staff in the implementation of the program and provides expert peer review of public power utilities’ applications for the SEP designation. APPA applauds Reps. Adrian Smith (R-NE), Suzan DelBene (D-WA), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Kim Schrier (D-WA), Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), and Michael Lawler (R-NY) for their leadership in introducing H.R. 2160 to establish a 30% investment tax credit for much-needed upgrades at hydropower facilities. Without the tax incentive support in this bill, hundreds of hydropower and pumped storage facilities across the country could close over the coming decade, threatening the reliability of the grid and the nation’s ability to further reduce emissions.
