Thank you SeaComm and employees for your generous support!
If you stopped by one of our branches last Friday, you may have noticed that our attire was a little more casual than normal. This is because we were raising money to help rebuild and restore hope for those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through jean-day donations, employee contributions and a matching donation from the credit union, we were able to contribute $3,090 to the American Red Cross in support of their relief efforts. “SeaComm employees are always willing to support those in need. Hurricane relief efforts through the American Red Cross for Helene and Milton are no exception. I am very proud of what all of our employees are willing to do to assist those who encounter tragedy and need financial support to get through this unimaginable difficult time,” said Scott A. Wilson, President & Chief Executive Officer of SeaComm. “We are pleased to partner with the American Red Cross and assist them in their critical work.”

Jim Albright of Onondaga County is one of our dedicated Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers. DAT members are on-call to provide shelter, food, comfort and hope to our neighbors displaced by house fires and other disasters. In the first nine months of this year, they've responded to over 470 incidents throughout our region, providing immediate emergency aid to more than 730 families. Thank you!

At our 26th Annual Fire & Ice Gala, we are thrilled to be presenting the Humanitarian Spirit Award to this year’s recipient, J. Robert Daggett, for his steadfast commitment to the Red Cross mission. A devoted blood donor and champion of veterans, Rob leads with compassion and a conviction that an individual has the power to evoke powerful change. His dedication to our community is an inspiration and a challenge to us all to do more. We hope you will join us in celebrating him. redcross.org/enygala

Four emergency response vehicles line up to load hot meals at the Bradenton, Florida kitchen. This kitchen is run by community partners who are cooking and packaging food for American Red Cross volunteers to distribute and serve throughout the communities impacted by Hurricane #Helene and Hurricane #Milton. In Florida, several disaster kitchens like this one are ready to produce tens of thousands of hot meals a day. Dozens of emergency response vehicles – including a fleet from the Eastern New York Region - are on the roads providing meals, water and supplies to those struggling to clean up their homes. With the help of partners, we’ve provided meals, snacks and relief items like cleaning and hygiene supplies for thousands of affected families across five states. Laurence Segal of of Syracuse celebrated his birthday by donating blood, a tradition that he started several years ago. "I donate blood on my birthday every year because the best way to celebrate life is by helping others to have a chance to live. I have been surrounded by cancer my whole life, and I think it is important to make sure cancer patients always can receive life- saving blood products. I am about to reach my 10-gallon milestone, and I am a proud Blood Program Leader who hosts blood drives all year long at DeWitt Community Church. "I want to encourage more people to please donate blood, and the best gift I can get on my birthday is the knowledge that lives will be saved because of generous blood donors."
