The ASCLD Forensic Research Committee (FRC) is proud to announce a new submission to the #Validation and Evaluation Repository. As you may already know, the purpose of this FRC initiative is to create a central repository of forensic validations and evaluations. ASCLD hopes that this repository will foster information sharing and promote collaboration with the #forensicscience community. The University of North Texas Center for Human Identification has submitted a new internal validation report entitled “UNT Center for Human Identification Internal Validation of the Verogen ForenSeq® Kintelligence Kit and Illumina MiSeq FGx® Sequencing System”. The goal of this submission was to evaluate the performance of the Verogen ForenSeq® Kintelligence Kit on the Illumina MiSeq FGx® Sequencing System using the Universal Analysis Software v2.0+ (UAS) for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) profile development for Forensic #GeneticGenealogy (FGG) testing. #forensics #investigations #forensicDNA For more information about this validation or other validations or evaluations within the repository please check out https://lnkd.in/eG7kpuS   Please consider submitting information about your lab’s validations or evaluations to the repository. Information could include basic information such as validation/evaluation title, lab name, and point of contact information (which enables other forensic scientists to contact you with questions) or additional information such as a short validation or evaluation summary or even a full validation or evaluation report. To register: https://buff.ly/3Yqn6EC Webinar Title: “Results from an Interlaboratory Study to Evaluate Analytical Schemes in ASTM E2329-17 - Standard Practice for Identification of Seized Drugs” Abstract: The Organization of Scientific Area Committees for Forensic Science (OSAC), sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), recently joined the Scientific Working Group for the Analysis of Seized Drugs (SWGDRUG) effort to vet existing standards and promote the development of additional consensus-based documentary standards for seized drugs. An important recommendation developed by SWGDRUG is the minimum standard for identifying commonly seized drugs related to the selection of analytical technique(s) [1], which was formally developed into ASTM E2329 [2].
