Look Out for Leaves!: Whether you're commuting to a jobsite or the office, Fall poses some unique road hazards for drivers. Safe driving is not limited to a season - it's a year-round commitment. Keep Safety on TRACK with these six tips: 1. Clean your vehicle before getting into it: Be sure to remove leaves off your windshield, windshield wipers, hood, and top of your vehicle to ensure your visibility is not obstructed by debris 2. Reduce your speed when driving on roads covered with leaves; take your time with turns 3. Give yourself more distance than usual when coming to a halt behind another vehicle: Similar to snow or ice, leaves can cause your wheels to lose traction 4. Avoid sudden movements: Give your full attention to the road; making sudden movements with a steering wheel can cause you to hydroplane 5. Know how to react to a skid: If you begin to skid, lay off the gas and point your wheels in the direction of the skid - do not slam on the brakes! 6. Park in a leaf-free spot to avoid the chance of a fire hazard from your vehicle's exhaust system #KeepSafetyOnTRACK

We stand with the communities affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, including those on the ground working hours on end in the relief and recovery efforts. As the Carolinas work to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, we are thinking of our Central Florida team, their family, and loved ones as they brace for Hurricane Milton. Please continue to follow local and state guidance. If your railyard has been affected, we are here to provide any assistance you may need to repair your critical rail infrastructure. September 23rd - 29th: See Tracks? Think Train® Week (formerly Rail Safety Week) This week, we are shining spotlight on Transit Safety and Professional Driver Safety as part of our See Tracks? Think Train® Week initiative! As we navigate our daily routines, it's crucial to stay vigilant. Below are some key reminders for our company drivers, as well as the drivers within our communities: 1. Always Look Both Ways - Trains can come from either direction, and they move fast! Always stop, look, and listen at crossings. 2. Stay Alert - Avoid distractions. Put away your phone and focus on the road and surroundings. 3. Respect the Signals - When lights flash and gates are down, it’s time to stop; don’t take chances! 4. Share the Road - Remember, you’re not just sharing the road with other vehicles; trains are part of that mix, too. To better understand the need for this concentrated week of rail safety education, visit Operation Lifesaver, Inc.'s site here: https://shorturl.at/1uKF8 #SeeTracksThinkTrain #TransitSafety #ProfessionalDrivers #AmericanTrack
