After a couple of months working with several venue partners and our amazing dev team, we’ve just rolled out our Northern Beaches Pilot, kicking off with a collaboration with our good friends at Little Pearl Bar and Dining who have reserved three Amicii tables at their awesome Sunday Session. This is a great way for venues to maximise their bookings by opening up tables at events they are already running. And it's a great way for everyone to experience these amazing events, knowing that there will be people there to enjoy them with. We’re excited to be starting our journey and we’re looking forward to the feedback and insights that we receive from both venues and users of the app, enabling us to deliver a seamless experience of connection and social network building. #SocialConnection #SocialDining #InPersonConnection

Social Networking Platforms
Putting hospitality back at the heart of social connection
About us
Amicii is Australia's first social experience marketplace designed to put hospitality back at the heart of social connection. Working with our venue partners we are connecting venue adventurers and curious conversationalists to great small group dining and social experiences at venues they love (or would love to visit), that they can enjoy with likeminded people. Combining our need for a technological solution with our human desire for in-person connection, our platform puts our users and venue partners in control over where, what and when they experience. We're like the AirBnB of social experiences and connection! Users can come to an Amicii Experience on their own, with a friend or with their partner. Our mission is to bring all kinds of people back together in person, breaking bread (or mixing cocktails!) around a table so that we can create more social connection, reignite community and rebuild thriving local economies.

“Human connection is just as vital a need to our health and well being as our nutritional physical needs. It’s just about figuring out what human connection looks like for you.” One of the reasons we have a focus on increasing social connection rather than specifically trying to solve for loneliness is that different people experience loneliness in different ways and in many different situations. But regardless of our different situations, spending time even briefly, interacting face-to-face with other humans is essential. Our approach to how we do that is very personal. As Dr Walker says, "It’s only in the last few generations that people have had to become intentional about human connection." A shift in culture and society requires a shift in how we approach building and maintaining our connections. And it's clear that we need a variety of solutions to do this. #SocialConnection #InPersonConnection #Amicii
When we feel lonely, many of us have a tendency to believe we’re the only one experiencing it. “If I really want to go out on a Saturday night and I’m at home alone, I’m likely imagining that every other person in the world is out having a good time,” human connection scientist Dr Ali Walker tells Women’s Agenda. In reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth. According to the latest Medibank Loneliness Population Index, more than half of Australians say they feel lonely in a typical week. This is one of the key reasons that challenge the stigma associated with loneliness in Australia is key to helping people feel less shame around the experience.

When we were designing Amicii we felt that it was important to ensure that we were providing choice for users and venues so that we could benefit as many people as possible. With the experience itself as the hero, we offer choice to a wide variety of people who want to build and maintain their social lives. And we enable venues the choice of providing an experience that works for them and that allows them to get creative without needing to lay out the time, money and effort needed to run a full-scale event. And this, we feel, offers benefits to people in ways that you may not have imagined. Check below to see how Amicii could help you. 👇 #SocialConnection #InPersonConnection #SmallGroupDining #Amicii

Exciting to see, and be part of, the innovation and commitment to revitalising not just Sydney's, but NSW's night time economy. As the only jurisdiction in the world with a 24-Hour Economy Commissioner and a Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, NSW is leading the way with the release of their revised 24-Hour Economy Strategy. The updated strategy, released last week, extends the reach to the whole of NSW and encompasses the needs of everyone who contributes to the 24-Hour economy, including essential workers in health, transport, security and more. Creating safe and enjoyable spaces for people to connect is an essential part of human existence. Music, art, food, stories, dance and all the ways we express ourselves create the balance we need to live a sustained and productive life - they just make life better. We're looking forward to bringing our own unique contribution to this innovative initiative and collaborating with the amazing venues in all neighbourhoods to rebuild those thriving local economies. #NightTimeEconomy #SocialConnection #InPersonConnection

Four years after lockout laws were lifted, the hard work continues to bring our city back to life after dark. We have stopped single neighbour noise complaints shutting down venues, given people the choice to sit or stand when drinking outdoors at a venue, streamlined approvals for street events and extending hours for venues that host live music. The good news is, this is helping live music venues come back. But we can do more. I have released a new 24-Hour Economy Strategy that will be a crucial guide to the next four years of repairing and growing our nighttime economy 🌃. The story so far has focused on reviving the nightlife, hospitality, and entertainment sectors - a necessary focus given the challenges posed by lockouts, overregulation, and lockdowns. As this work continues, we must now expand our scope to encompass the wider night-time economy. Night-time workers often face unique challenges, including lower pay, job insecurity, limited transportation and childcare options, reduced safety, and fewer retail and dining choices. Many struggle to find a decent coffee to start their shift or a meal when it ends. The new 24-Hour Economy strategy supports a fundamental Labor value of putting workers first and that’s what this new strategy does. Did you know that GPs use social prescribing to help their patients improve both physical and mental health outcomes? In the UK, this has been a focus now for quite some time, with many pilot programs running since as early as 2015. And, whilst it's difficult to establish a clear methodology for measuring the precise outcomes and impact of social prescribing, it has been linked to reduced pressures on NHS services and GP workload. Some studies have shown an average 28% reduction in demand for GP services and an average 24% fall in A&E attendance for patients referred to social prescribing schemes. In Australia, Primary & Community Care Services Ltd began a social prescribing program in 2017 for injured workers, and now runs two social prescribing programs in Queensland and NSW. Having read many research papers on the positive impact of social connection, especially social dining, we're well aware of the potential outcomes of bringing people together in person. We're just looking forward to the day that Amicii will be available on the PBS! 😁 #SocialConnection #SocialDining #InPersonConnection #Amicii

As we near the end of Loneliness Awareness Week, it's worth considering all the different scenarios that can contribute to feeling lonely or isolated. There are many changes in life that can impact our social network and connection to others. And, in our modern digital-first world, we do run the risk of being alone feeling 'normal'. This is why it's so important that there are many different opportunities and solutions that work for different kinds of people to help them connect with others, whether it's to reignite friendships they already have, or to form new ones. We're so glad to be just one option and to play our part in helping to end social isolation and facilitate human connection. #LonelinessAwarenessWeek #IRL #InPersonConnection #SocialConnection
A common question we get asked is, "Why do I feel lonely?" or "Why do people feel lonely?" With 1 in 3 Australians feeling lonely at any time and 1 in 4 experiencing persistent loneliness, the real question should be, "Why do WE feel lonely?" and "What can WE do about it?" This Loneliness Awareness Week (5-11 August), we're sharing real stories to spark conversations about loneliness and encouraging all Australians to create a culture of connection at home, work, school, and in the community. Get prepared to join the conversation 👉 https://lnkd.in/gP6raU-f #EndingLonelinessTogether #LonelinessAwarenessWeekAU

"Now, social isolation is the public health risk of our time." In her TED Conferences talk, way back in 2017 and long before we endured the forced isolation of a global pandemic, developmental psychologist Susan Pinker explores the secret to living a longer and healthier life. You may be surprised at the most important (and simplest) thing you can do for good health and longevity. If you have a spare 15 minutes, we highly recommend watching her full talk below. TL:DW Key summary points: 📢 There's only one place in the world where men live as long as women, and the social setup plays a key role in this. 📢 The top two indicators of a long and healthy life are both related to your social connections. #SocialConnection #InPersonConnection #SocialExperienceMarketplace #Amicii
