We're thrilled to celebrate this as part of our August wins! On 29th and 30th, 2024, USAID AMPATH Uzima alongside key development partners, hosted the inaugural West Pokot Primary Health Care (PHC) Exhibition. The event highlighted the county’s impressive strides in PHC and reaffirming the program's commitment to enhancing health services. West Pokot County's 264 Community Health Units and 2,423 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) are driving significant progress at the grassroots level. A key moment was the signing of a PHC communiqué, pledging to upgrade six PCN hubs to Level 4 facilities, in line with the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027. This initiative will strengthen both the community health platform and health financing in the county. Special thanks to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Hon. Mary Muthoni (who joined virtually), Deputy Governor H.E. Robert Komolle, and the County Executive Committee Member for Health, Hon. Paul Woyakapel, for their leadership and support. Let's continue to work together to improve health for all! #PHC #AMPATHUzima #WestPokot #Leadership #HealthForAll #Bestpractices

The visiting students will have the opportunity to focus on clinical and cultural learning while receiving a comparative overview of medical education training systems and will learn more about Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care delivery model, interventions, and programs. This photo was taken after their doctoring course w/ KPSOM faculty Dr. Natalie Nasser (pictured center) who shared that the students were such a wonderful addition to the classes and she was, “very impressed with their knowledge base.” Read more about the AMPATH global health program: https://kpsom.link/46Lw2GQ
