Global Cybersecurity Focus: A Closer Look at the EU's New Cyber Resilience Act At AMPYX CYBER, we are continuously committed to navigating and shaping the evolving landscape of global cybersecurity regulations. Today, we turn our attention to the European Union's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which introduces significant changes that impact the entire digital product supply chain. ⏩️ Key Updates to Watch: The CRA, adopted by the Council, establishes a unified #cybersecurity standard across the #EU for products with digital elements—including everyday connected devices like smart home cameras, appliances, and toys. This regulation ensures that these products are secure before they hit the market, enhancing cybersecurity from design to disposal. What's New? ▪️EU-Wide Standards: Hardware and software products, including #IoT devices, must meet strict cybersecurity requirements at every stage of their lifecycle. Products complying with these standards will bear the CE marking, a symbol of safety across the EU. ▪️Closing Gaps: By harmonizing various existing national requirements, CRA creates a coherent framework, reducing the complexity for businesses and ensuring uniform cybersecurity protection across borders. ▪️Empowering Consumers: With CRA, consumers will have clearer visibility into the cybersecurity features of products they purchase, allowing them to make more informed decisions. 🔄 Timeline and Impact: The CRA will enter into force 20 days after publication and will apply 36 months later, giving businesses time to adapt to the new cybersecurity requirements. However, certain provisions will take effect earlier. AMPYX CYBER is at the forefront, ready to assist our partners in meeting these new compliance standards as they prepare for a more secure digital future.
