We had the honor of hosting the GFU Construction Management class for a tour of Albina Library's modernization project. Students were inspired by the progress and information shared through the guidance of our Albina Library project management team. We learned about many aspects of construction management including the juxtaposition of mass timber and steel framing, and the significance of renovating a historic structure. Big shoutout to everyone involved for their dedication, effort, and commitment to continuous improvement.

A groundbreaking CTE program at Jefferson High School has empowered students to build a tiny house for their final exam, gaining valuable skills and hands-on experience. Thanks to our superintendent and instructor, Dirk Redman, for his mentorship throughout this project. Students like Mateo not only learned construction techniques but also developed essential life skills, like changing light switches at home. This initiative was fully funded by Andersen Construction, and the tiny house will be auctioned off in November, with proceeds supporting future CTE projects. Together, we’re shaping the next generation of builders!

We had the best time hosting students from We Belong PDX at the Andersen Portland office. We Belong gives children access to trusted relationships and strategies to live healthier. The field trip included a tour of the office, lunch, and a craft activity in the warehouse. We look forward to having them again next year and fully support their mission of supporting kids' mental health.

We are wrapping up #constructioninclusionweek by joining Elevate Academy students on a tour of the Saint Alphonsus Medical Office Building site in Caldwell, ID. It was inspiring to see so many young minds light up as we made our way through the construction site together. Inclusion at Andersen means empowering the next generation of industry professionals to help them explore their potential in our field. Together, we can build a diverse and innovative workforce that shapes the future of construction.

In construction, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment is key! We believe that everyone should feel comfortable and valued, especially in the spaces we work in. At Andersen, it's the people who make the difference, and we love being part of a community that supports and uplifts one another! We usually don’t need a reason to spend time with each other, but yesterday, our Washington region hosted an awesome game night, where everyone was invited to join in on the fun. Who doesn’t love a scavenger hunt or dessert bingo?! #ConstructionInclusionWeek

Welcome to Construction Inclusion Week! We're kicking off the week at our Albina Library site, part of the Multnomah County Library (MCL) system. With women accounting for 12.26% and minorities 36.89% of workers, we’re proud to report that nearly half of our workforce (49.15%) comes from underrepresented groups. This commitment to inclusion not only enriches our project but also fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration. We’re dedicated to continuous improvement in diversity.
