STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Meet AFW Pacific Northwest Outreach Association's Jennifer Cooper! Jen started her journey with us in February 2022 — and she hasn't looked back! Jen works hard to connect with healthcare partners and aviation groups in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. She shares the good news of Angel Flight West in hopes of serving more patients in need of donated flight services. Jen says, "One of the things I love most about my job is the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring individuals — from the dedicated volunteer pilots and Earth Angels who generously donate their time and resources to the social workers and case managers who work tirelessly on behalf of their patients to find transportation solutions for the life-saving care they need." We’re incredibly grateful and fortunate to have Jen as part of our team. Thank you, Jen, for all that you do!

Meet our hospice partner, Joni, a dedicated social worker at Elevation Hospice of Colorado who went above and beyond to support Larry, a patient who had suffered a stroke and lost his wife shortly after. Without local family, Larry struggled with loneliness until our partner discovered that his sister lived in California. Determined to reunite them, she reached out to Angel Flight West. Soon after, Joni and Larry were on a flight from Colorado to Southern California, thanks to the generosity of our partner JSX. Thanks to Joni's unwavering commitment, Larry spent his final months close to family, experiencing love and peace. We're grateful to our partner JSX for bringing Larry closer to family during his time of need. Joni says, "It was an honor and a privilege to accompany Larry home. I will be forever grateful to Angel Flight West and JSX. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!" Read more about Larry's story below:

🙌 1,000 MISSIONS FLOWN! 🙌 Yesterday, Command Pilot Dennis Phelan achieved an incredible milestone by completing his 1,000th AFW mission! Since 2008, Dennis has been committed to serving passengers in the state of Arizona and beyond. And just this year, he was awarded the 2024 Endeavor Award in recognition of his ongoing dedication and heroism. For this special mission, Dennis flew AFW passenger Nubia back home to Tulare, California, after her medical care at City of Hope in Phoenix. This isn't the first time Dennis has flown Nubia. In fact, he's flown her 23 times in his Piper Aircraft to ensure she has access to her treatment 528 miles away. Nubia was touched to be part of Dennis's 1,000th mission, bringing a cake to celebrate the day — and to say thank you on behalf of all his passengers. We know Dennis has touched many of your lives, too. Whether you've been part of Dennis's missions or not, leave a word of gratitude to help us thank Dennis for making our world a better place, one angel flight at a time. #aviation #pilot #flying #goodnews #pilotlife #piper
