World Mental Health Day | The WHO theme for 2024 is “Mental Health at Work". AngloGold Ashanti understands that to help our people and business to flourish, we must create a workplace culture that helps to promote the wellbeing of our workforce and their loved ones. We’re actively integrating psychological wellbeing and safety initiatives throughout our business, and this has resulted in our four-pillar mental health wellbeing strategy. The strategy is designed to prevent psychological hazards; promote and provide proactive and adequately responsive support; foster positive leadership and establish a values-based culture for our workforce.

Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (IDE) is extremely important to AngloGold Ashanti. In our quest to enhance the diversity of our workforce, we talked to the women of AGA and their allies, highlighting the importance of allies in our IDE agenda aligning it with our values. Allies help in creating an inclusive work environment for all people to thrive at AngloGold Ashanti - specifically women, minorities, and people with disabilities. Our greatest pride is in the first 68 cohorts who will pave the way for the next generation. Together, we're shaping brighter futures for generations to come.

Exciting times at our Tropicana Gold Mine today with the first blast for the Havana underground portal. Tropicana will produce gold from three underground production areas once Havana underground is developed. It already has underground mines beneath the Boston Shaker and Tropicana open pits. Gold production from first stope ore is targeted to start in the third quarter of 2027 through to 2029. Congratulations everyone, particularly our joint venture partner Regis Resources Ltd and mining alliance partner Macmahon, which developed Tropicana’s first underground mine beneath the Boston Shaker pit in 2020.
