Improving Culture and Compliance through Assessing + Advising + Training. Serving the Veterinary Medical Community
Over the weekend I was thinking about urgent things and important things. How many times have I done the urgent thing and not the important thing because I placed a higher value on that which I felt was urgent. I suspect what you or I might define as urgent or important will vary. The lesson for me is to find a way to not avoid doing the important thing while I am working on the urgent thing. Several years ago while at home, I received a call that my mom was sent to the hospital. I put down the garden tools I was working with grabbed my car keys and immediately headed to the hospital. On my way out the house, I locked the house door. There are times I have done both the urgent and important thing. Not as consistently when it comes to work. I will spend the next few weeks and perhaps months practicing the art of doing both; appropriately taking care of that which is urgent and still doing those things that are important. Perhaps this resonates with you, if so I invite you to join me on this journey. #MondayMoment #Doingtherightthing #Stilllearning
