Today, on World Mental Health Day, let’s acknowledge the critical importance of mental well-being in the workplace. When we work in environments that are safe, supportive, and inclusive, we don’t just become more productive—we thrive. Healthy workplaces foster collaboration, build strong connections across teams, and give us a sense of purpose in what we do. But there’s still more to be done. We must take urgent and effective action to prioritize and protect mental health at work. Everyone deserves to feel valued, heard, and supported in their job. Let's continue pushing for workplaces where mental health is prioritized because when we care for our minds, we care for our future. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #SafeWorkplaces #MentalHealthAtWork #WellBeing

At AnnieCannons, we are incredibly proud of our partnership with Allies Against Slavery, which began in 2020. Together, we have transformed data into innovative software that better equips communities to understand and address human trafficking. We are excited to share that Allies’ Lighthouse anti-trafficking software, a powerful tool transforming the fight against human trafficking is being built by our very own AnnieCannons graduates. Their work makes this partnership even more meaningful and special. Together, we’re showing how technology can lead to lasting change, and with our graduates leading the charge, the future is brighter for survivors everywhere. #TechForGood #EndHumanTrafficking #PartnershipForGood

Today, we celebrate the incredible legacy of Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer and a true pioneer for women in tech. Her groundbreaking work laid the foundation for modern computing, and her story continues to inspire women and girls everywhere to break barriers and pursue their dreams in STEM. At AnnieCannons, we are reminded every day of Ada's impact as we guide our students to develop software, code with purpose, and build a future in tech. Ada's resilience and vision push us to nurture the next generation of women software engineers and tech leaders. Let’s continue to empower women to explore STEM, create innovative solutions, and shape their own futures — just like Ada did. #AdaLovelaceDay #WomenInSTEM #WomenWhoCode

Today, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible instructors who dedicate themselves to guiding our students on their tech journeys. You’ve taught them how to code, but more importantly, you’ve helped them code their dreams into reality. Your unwavering support, dedication, patience, and belief in their potential have empowered them to break barriers, build new futures, and step confidently into the tech industry. You’ve been more than teachers, you’ve been mentors, role models, and true champions for every single one of them. To every member of the AnnieCannons teaching team: “Thank you for your dedication and heart. Because of you, our students are building not only software but a future full of possibilities.” Let’s celebrate our teachers today and every day for their vital role in shaping lives and careers. Together, we’re creating a brighter tomorrow! #WorldTeachersDay #EmpowerThroughEducation

October is LGBT History Month. This month, we honor the trailblazers and unsung heroes of the LGBT community who have shaped our history in profound ways. One such figure is Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician and pioneer in computer science. During World War II, Turing broke the infamous Enigma Code that the Nazis used, which is said to have shortened the war by years and saved millions of lives. Despite his monumental contributions, Turing faced discrimination for his sexuality—a reminder of the struggles the LGBT community has endured throughout history. At AnnieCannons, we work to build a future where individuals—regardless of gender, sexuality, or background—are empowered through technology. As we celebrate LGBT History Month, let’s reflect on the courage and resilience of individuals like Turing, who pushed boundaries and changed the world, even in the face of adversity. Let's continue to uplift and recognize the stories of the LGBT community, both past and present, as they inspire us to keep fighting for a world of equality and love. #LGBTHistoryMonth #EqualityForAll

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we at AnnieCannons stand as allies for those who have experienced abuse in their relationships. Abuse—whether physical, emotional, or psychological—is never acceptable, and no one should endure harm in their relationships. With this year’s theme, Heal, Hold & Center, we focus on healing from the trauma of abuse, holding space for survivors, and centering their needs in the conversation. Abuse—whether physical, emotional, or psychological—is never acceptable, and no one should endure harm in their relationships. The first solution to ending domestic violence starts within us. By fostering compassion, challenging harmful behaviors, and supporting those affected, we can all contribute to creating safer environments. It’s on all of us to take a stand against abuse in every form, and change begins when we, as individuals and as a society, refuse to tolerate violence (* or silence those impacted by it.) #EndDomesticViolence #DomesticViolence #SupportSurvivors #DVAM2024

AnnieCannons is excited to introduce our Survivor-Centered Peer Support Groups, designed to create a safe and nurturing environment for all survivors within our community. This group is open to all our staff identifying as survivors and students. The goal of this initiative is simple. To build a connected community where survivors can come together, support one another, and heal in a space that understands their unique journeys. At AnnieCannons, we believe we are stronger together, a community where everyone looks out for each other, grows together and lifts one another up. In this space, you’re never alone. Together, we heal, thrive, and build a future of hope and empowerment. #SupportSurvivors #StrongerTogether #HealingAsOne #CommunityCare

There are an estimated 4.8 million victims of sex trafficking globally, and 21% of these victims are children and teens. The intense trauma experienced during these crucial formative years often leads to long-lasting mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, PTSD—and alarmingly, heightened suicide risk. Survivors frequently carry the invisible scars of their trauma into adulthood, struggling to rebuild their lives while battling overwhelming feelings of despair and hopelessness. This isn’t just a healthcare issue—it’s a community issue. It’s crucial for all of us, healthcare professionals, communities, and individuals—to recognize the signs and support survivors in their healing journey. By raising awareness and offering compassionate care, we can help break the cycle of trauma and offer survivors a brighter future. #EndTrafficking #SupportSurvivors #MentalHealthMatters #MythandFact
