    Imagine my surprise when I was received word while on AT THE BEACH that I had earned Employee of the Month yet again for August 2024! 🎉 I'm grateful to have an amazing boss who understands I'd be thrilled to hear the news as soon as possible, even while on vacation. ❤️😃 ...And especially since I work for myself and am my own boss, I never take these accolades for granted. To celebrate, I'm going to take my family out to a nice lunch! Because it's what my boss would want. And I'm going to pay for it on with personal debit card. Because that's what my bookkeeper would want (and has told me specifically to do because, "It's not a company write-off when it's a personal expense, Lauren." - blah blah blah). 🙄🤣 BTW this photo is from the stage at the Charlotte NACE Chapter CADES Awards earlier this year, where I served as emcee. #employeeofthemonth #corporateentertainer #corporatetrainer #charlottenc

    Glossophobia is real. And you are not alone. Uhoh - that annoying, nervous pit in your stomach is back again because you have a big presentation coming up at work? I get it. The irony: The best way to get over your fear of presenting in front of groups is to DO IT. 🎯 Experience builds confidence. - The more you do it, the better you'll be. 🎯Preparation builds familiarity. - The more you understand the information, the better you can convey it. 🎯Practice makes almost perfect. - Important note: We're ⛔NOT⛔ striving for perfection. ✅ The ideal goal of any presentation - instead of perfection - should be to deliver the information in an effective and succinct way your audience can clearly understand and absorb. I have presented at hundreds of events in front of thousands of people - from business meetings to comedy shows - and I still get nervous every single time. Thankfully, I've learned how to minimize, redirect and channel the nerves - through preparation, effective presentation structure, and practice.
