A new research report from Common Sense Media digs into generative AI adoption among teens and use at home and school. Here were some of our takeaways: 1️⃣ Teens of color use AI the most, which could signal that new technology is helping to create more equitable access to educational supports and resources. 2️⃣ Homework help is the #1 AI use case for teens. 3️⃣ Accuracy is a top concern for teens using AI. And it's why we've focused so much on leading the pack in providing accurate answers even for complex math and science problems. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gVu-eeu8

The American School Counselor Association recommends one counselor for every 250 students. But most K-12 schools in the US have far fewer counselors, with the average ratio at 385-to-one. So, it's no wonder that 80% of students we surveyed are interested in AI counseling. In our app, students can now toggle from Tutor to Counselor, then answer a few quick questions to get a customized list of reach, target, and safe colleges to fine tune from there. It can be great way to prep for in-person counseling sessions, plus get quick answers in between. #AIforStudentSuccess #AIforEducation

We love that we're not the only AI tool transforming learning and making educational opportunities accessible to all. With college application season upon us, we recommend pulling out all the stops, and tapping into the latest technology, to help your students get unstuck on those application essays. Step 1: Feed Google's #NotebookLM a LinkedIn profile or resume and have it generate a podcast ALL ABOUT YOU! Step 2: Use that podcast as a jumping off point for your essay. (Tip: Our AI Tutor can help with this, too.) Step 3: Check in with our new AI College Counselor. 4-5 quick questions will get you a great start, including a custom list of both stretch-goal schools and right-on-target schools to apply to! https://lnkd.in/gkjGkVNW #AIforStudentSuccess #AIforEducation
I Teach Soft Skills That Get You Hired & Promoted – Design the UX of You – Sr. UX Designer @1800Contacts
We live in crazy, cool times. 🤯 I provided Google's NotebookLM AI tool with my LinkedIn profile and had the tool generate a podcast about me. The results are pretty sweet. Give it a shot over your lunch break... I think you'll be just as giddy as I was to hear how yours turns out!!! On the one hand, it’s exciting to listen to an AI-generated podcast, where the hosts talk all about you. Almost surreal, really. But I’m also blown away by the value it brought to me. In the 8-minute podcast, I get a fantastic overview of how I’m seen on LinkedIn. The two AI hosts go back and forth, highlighting my accomplishments, challenging what they can find about me, and opening my eyes to how I’m perceived on this popular social networking platform. If you want to create your own, I walk through the steps I took. I'll put a link to mine in the comments as well if you wanna check it out. #ai #notebookLM #ux

In Part 2 of our series #StudentsOnSmartphoneBans, this student says there were certain restrictions in place at her high school, but that some educational apps and sites were fair game with a teacher's permission. It was all about balance. ⚖️ For this series, we're asking students what they have to say about states, from Florida to California, passing laws designed to restrict or limit mobile phone use in schools. Some of their answers might surprise you!
