Antin Infrastructure Partners is excited to announce the launch of Proxima, the first independent high-speed train operator in France. - Proxima is a French project led by its two co-founders, Rachel Picard and Timothy Jackson, and has the full financial backing of Antin Infrastructure Partners.  - Proxima’s high-speed trains will connect Bordeaux, Rennes, Nantes and Angers to Paris.  - Proxima has signed a memorandum of understanding with Alstom for the purchase of 12 Avelia Horizon latest generation high-speed trains.  - Proxima has concluded an agreement with Lisea for the use of its new purpose-built maintenance depot, located in Marcheprime, near Bordeaux. Fascinating discussions ranged from water security to the growing EV destination charging market. A highlight was our visit to INDAQUA's water treatment facility, which produces 78% of its own electricity using wastewater organic matter and photovoltaic panels. [1Q 2024 Activity Update] Antin Infrastructure Partners reports good momentum in capital deployment and continued value creation. Two investments announced since the start of the year fuelled by a strong pipeline of opportunities in all our investment strategies. Progress on value creation plans of portfolio companies lead to increases in Gross Multiples of several funds in 1Q 2024. Fundraising continued with Flagship Fund V commitments of €9.1bn at the end of 1Q 2024, representing over 90% of the fund’s target size. With over 30 nationalities currently working at Antin Infrastructure Partners, we are committed to developing young talent from diverse backgrounds. So far this year, Antin has held two career immersion days in our New York and Paris offices to inspire the next generation of future infrastructure professionals. As part of our continued support of the The Opportunity Network (OppNet), Antin hosted 16 college students to introduce them to our New York team. We had Antin volunteers lead panel discussions with the students and share their experiences on what it’s like to work at a private equity firm. In Paris, Antin teamed up with the Article 1 organisation for the second consecutive year to welcome 19 students to our offices. Our team engaged with the students to explore career prospects within private equity, offer direct feedback and answer their inquiries. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in ensuring the success of these career days. The volume of tires that are discarded each year is a major challenge for our industry, which needs to be more circular. In Europe alone, the annual amount reaches 3.5 million tons. Committed since a long time and determined to take concrete action, we announced last year with Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (publ) and Antin Infrastructure Partners the creation of the world’s first large-scale tire recycling group, with the ambition to establishing end-of-life tires recycling plants across Europe. Less than a year later, this ambition becomes a reality, with the announcement today of the construction of the first factory, based in Uddevalla, Sweden! The project will be based on Enviro’s unique pyrolysis technology with the ability to extract raw materials from multi-component products.
