Neisha Himes' story is a powerful testament to the often-overlooked aspect of financial abuse within the broader spectrum of domestic violence. By sharing her personal experiences, she highlights how financial control and manipulation are used as tools to keep victims trapped in abusive relationships. Financial abuse can involve controlling a partner's access to money, limiting their ability to work, or incurring debt in their name, all of which contribute to their isolation and dependency. https://lnkd.in/eRPPDFZt

Education. Empowerment. Ending Intimate Partner Violence.
About us
A Partnership for Change (APFC) is a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) private, non-profit organization dedicated to ending family abuse and intimate partner violence. Our mission is to break the cycle of abuse in all relationships through the provision of comprehensive prevention, education and awareness programs. APFC 's workshops are designed to empower you to make a difference in the lives of victims…whether it's someone you serve as a social worker, teacher, healthcare professional or law enforcement agent; someone you work with, work for, or who works for you; or a neighbor, friend, family member or loved one. Program participants increase their knowledge about the issue, learn about methods for safe and effective intervention, and find out about resources for help and support.

Domestic Violence calls are one of the most dangerous calls for law enforcement. Deputy Brad McNew had just completed his shift when he encountered the suspect at a truck stop in Jacksonville and tried to help a woman he was allegedly battering near the gas pumps. #training #lawenforcement #DVAM #domesticviolence #risk https://lnkd.in/e6bnKzYC
