A quick flyover shot of our Model House progress 👀 You've seen the updated kitchen island with dragon scale patterns, a peek at the interior, and what the exterior walls now look like. This is a flyover shot of the Model House as it stands - and as it continues to be completed this year 🤖 🏗️ 🏠 The purpose of constructing this model house is to not only test the capabilities of our current technology, but to also learn what can be improved in the process. For example, we were able to test new G-codes and fine tune the seamless relocation of the 3D printing robot, Frank. Stay tuned for more updates to come on the fully printed, to-be-finished model house! #3Dprinting #constructioninnovation

You already know why 3D printing is superior to traditional construction in terms of quality, strength, speed, cost, and minimal waste. This 18-minute video segment covers additional topics and will answer your questions on the following: 🎨 What design freedom means and why this is the only time you'll hear "cut the corners" in a good way 🧠 Why Gary is the brain of the operation and why the automated self-cleaning feature is incredibly important (and handy!) 🤖 What makes Frank so mobile and easy to work with, even on a large printing scale 🧱 Why "same walls, new machines" makes sense in terms of code-compliant construction and usage of reinforcement Hope you find this session informative and insightful! New video from Apis Cor University, 3D Modeling to Create 3D Print Friendly Architectural Designs, is now available on YouTube! Here are the topics covered: 🎨 Introduction to 3D Modeling: A guide to creating 3D print-friendly architectural designs using CAD software. 🖥️ Printer Capabilities and Constraints: Apis Cor printer's constraints, such as maximum and minimum print radius, are crucial when designing printable structures. 🏠 Designing Floor Plans: How to create floor plans that fit within the constraints of the printer’s radii while maintaining flexibility. For example, larger buildings are broken into multiple print sections to allow for smoother printing. 🛠️ Managing Multiple Print Sections: Repositioning the printer between sections requires calibration but is relatively quick, taking about 30 to 45 minutes per move. 🏗️ Practical Example of a Floor Plan: A step-by-step example of designing a 3D-printed house floor plan, including considerations such as wall thickness, door and window placements, and how to manage areas outside the printable radius. 🔄 Adjustments and Revisions: Techniques for modifying traditional stick-built designs to be more compatible with 3D printing. This involves adjusting wall thickness, ensuring rooms remain code-compliant, and optimizing layouts for the printer’s capabilities. 📏 Working with Wall Systems and Materials: Different 3D-printed wall systems, such as hollow block walls and thicker exterior walls, impact the overall design and energy efficiency. 🚪 Configuring Door and Window Openings: How to adjust rough openings for doors and windows when converting standard plans into 3D-printed designs. 💡 Value Engineering Considerations: Considerations for value engineering, where some interior walls may be wood-framed instead of 3D printed, to allow easier future renovations.
