Michael (name changed for privacy) was all set to join his friends on a Friday evening when a complex issue surfaced in his app. He was working on a mobile application built with Flutter, connecting to two separate backends that required different authentication tokens. Due to a misconfiguration, two Flutter Engines were running simultaneously. This caused the app to mix up tokens between users and backends—sending the wrong tokens to the wrong servers—which led to elusive bugs that were nearly impossible to trace with standard debugging tools.
