PDFs are ubiquitous, and rightly so. They’re designed to contain information in a portable, shareable way. Even better, PDFs can be opened to a wide range of viewers and potentially edited, annotated, reorganized, or printed, all of which help to solve a wide range of user problems. But what if you want to control who can access them or what can be done with them? Maybe you want only specific people to view them, or perhaps you want people to be able to view them but not print or make changes to them. This is where #documentsecurity and #passwords come in. In one of our latest blog posts, we look at two types of passwords and explain how you can use these to keep control of your documents. We’ll also examine how permissions specified within a #PDF are not a complete solution to #DigitalRightsManagement (#DRM). How to Password Protect a PDF: https://brnw.ch/21wM51K

The Apryse #WebViewer is a powerful tool for viewing, editing, and working with PDFs and other #document types. This includes the ability to create and edit #DOCX files without the need for #Office to be installed. When it was first released, WebViewer had to be instantiated within an #iframe, but as of last year, it’s now possible to use it as a Web Component instead. We recently released a blog explaining the change, how to choose which option to use, and how to identify which method is being used in your application. Learn more by clicking the link below! ⬇️ Web Component or iframe? Have your Pick with WebViewer: https://brnw.ch/21wLO0F

We all know that PDFs are a great and portable file format that is widely understood. But what about annotations within them? Annotations come in many forms, such as text, graphics, highlights, text boxes, and #redaction marks, to name just a few. Technically speaking, #annotations are separate from the #PDF content and can even be exported separately into a database, allowing version control to be implemented, making them even more awesome. Our latest blog discusses PDF annotations and how to control user permissions for viewing, editing, or deleting them in the Apryse #WebViewer. Check it out below! ⬇️ Taking Control of Annotations: https://brnw.ch/21wLNQ3
