Our programs are designed to equip aspiring or existing teachers and educational leaders with the knowledge, skills, and practical experiences necessary to make a lasting impact in the field. With a wide range of degree programs, we offer comprehensive and innovative options for individuals seeking to pursue a career in education. Our undergraduate programs provide a strong foundation in the fundamentals of teaching, while our graduate programs offer specialized areas of study and advanced coursework to further enhance professional development. Whether you're interested in PreK-12 education, special education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or doctoral studies, our programs cater to diverse interests and career goals. One of our standout initiatives is the Grow Your Own Teacher Apprenticeship program, which aims to address the critical shortage of teachers in across the nation. APSU partnered with CMCSS to become the first registered teacher apprenticeship in the nation. Through this unique program, we partner with local school districts to identify talented individuals who are passionate about becoming teachers. These future educators are then provided with mentorship, financial support, and hands-on experience, enabling them to gain the necessary skills and knowledge while remaining connected to their communities. The Grow Your Own Teacher Apprenticeship is a testament to our commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in education. Our College of Education boasts dedicated and accomplished faculty who are renowned experts in their respective fields. They are committed to providing high-quality education and mentorship, ensuring that our students are prepared to excel in the rapidly evolving landscape of education. #APSUCollegeofEducation #GovsTeach #Education #Teaching #EducationalLeadership #TeacherApprenticeship

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming approximately 80 students from Humphreys County Schools for an exciting campus tour and pizza party. 🍕🎓 The students asked many great questions and had a wonderful time experiencing a taste of college life. If you'd like your school group to discover what it means to #BeAGov, please contact Amy Barrett at barrettam@apsu.edu to arrange a personalized visit with the Eriksson College of Education!

Eriksson College of Education values our partnerships with local schools like St. Bethlehem Early Learning Center. This week, Dr. Donna Short and Amy Barrett delivered pumpkins donated by the college for the center's upcoming fall festival. Providing resources and spreading joy to young children in our community is one meaningful way we strive to make an impact beyond our own campus. 🎃
