So excited for and proud of my sister Margie Gardner who tonight is receiving a lifetime achievement award from The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) for her work in energy conservation. Marge along with various industry colleagues had a key role in the definition of the ENERGY STAR energy conservation standard and program, was the founding CEO of the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), and most recently had a key role in helping redesign California's wholesale energy conservation program. (Most of you didn't even know there was such a thing as a wholesale conservation program, did you? But because California tends to lead the way on energy, this work will likely have a global ripple effect in regional and national market-driven energy conservation policy.) Go little sis!
