🚐 Health Caravan in Gjakova! 🩺 In collaboration with the Municipality of Gjakova, we organized a successful health promotion event. More than 200 participants benefited from on-the-spot free health checks and informational materials provided throughout the day.

Since 2020, we have been facilitating online participation in the SSPH+ Lugano Summer School in Public Health Policy, Economics, and Management. This year, together with IHS Project we're proud to bring the experience closer to home by hosting a HUB at the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPHK)! Partners from the Ministry of Health, NIPHK, the Health Directorate in municipalities, Family Medicine Centers and General Hospitals are benefiting from topics such as participatory methods, evidence synthesis, ethics, meta-analysis, digital health, and health financing, all aimed at fostering mutual learning and driving impactful change. 🌍

📢 The Municipality of Lipjan has established a Working Group to develop the Action Plan for Health Education and Promotion 2024-2027! Many activities that have been successfully implemented in collaboration with AQH are now included in the work plan and will be organized by the Municipality of Lipjan. This is a significant achievement aimed at continuing to raise health awareness among Lipjan’s residents.

Our dear colleague Fekrije Hasani from the IHS Project recently shared her inspiring journey as part of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute team. In her reflections, she emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in strengthening Kosovo's health sector. “Being part of a team that is dedicated to improving health outcomes in Kosovo has been a rewarding experience, and I’m proud to contribute to such impactful work.” Read more about her experience and insights here 👇🏻

🩺 Hypertension Awareness Session in Gjakova/Cërmjan Today, an informative session on hypertension was held in the Municipality of Gjakova/Cërmjan. Dr. Granit Rudi and the staff of the MFMC, including the director Dr. Arben Koshi, shared essential knowledge on the prevention and treatment of this health issue.

This time we gathered in the village of Sankoc to talk about hypertension or high blood pressure. 🩺 Dr. Jeton Hoxha informed the attendees about the prevention and better management of hypertension. 🫀 In cooperation with MFMC Drenas and implemented by NGO KOPF, such sessions have been organized for the residents for the past 8 years.

Exciting News for New Municipalities! Through the On Demand Mechanism, new municipalities will soon adopt our project interventions in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH). The working group, led by the MoH and joined by representatives from the SDC, municipalities, health collegium, and AQH colleagues, held a productive meeting to discuss the initial interventions in these new areas. We’re pleased that through our joint efforts, we will enhance health outcomes for more municipalities!
