Brazil (up 9.9%), Turkey (up 6.5%) and Germany (up 4.3%) defied a downturn in steel production to register the largest year-on-year increases in crude steel production during September, according to worldsteel. Overall, global steel production declined by 4.1%, to 146.6 million tonnes last month, however. The output of steelmakers declined in five of the world's top 10 steel making nations, with China's output down by 6.1%, to 77.1m tonnes and India's growth stalling with a 0.2% reduction, to 11.7m tonnes. Congratulations Arbor Metals, Inc. And Hillman Brass & Copper for our last of seven 2024 successful ISO 9001:2015 audits. Four ISO surveillance audits and three new Stage 2 audits to add to our multi-site certification. Our Hillman Brass team had an outstanding audit day that demonstrated the leadership, engagement and commitment to process improvement and excellence in customer service over the past year. The Hillman production associates are knowledgeable and confident. They were proud to show us the progress and improvements they’ve made since we started the ISO 2024 Certification project last January. The branch Management Review team of Steve Clark George Illingworth and Dan Fick understood the importance of our certification goals and have lead their branch week in and week out to achieve those goals. It’s been a joy working with all our teams and we are only getting started!
