Last week, local comedian, magician, and former Dancing with The Arc contestant Sky Sands put on a magic show for those attending Ballantyne Day Services. He made cards appear, multiple pieces of dental floss into a single piece, a balloon poodle for his former dance partner, Gina, and mind-boggled us all!

The Arc of Monroe’s Ballantyne Day Services is July’s featured Department of the Month! Ballantyne is specifically designed to support the needs of aging adults, including those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. The team there provides engaging activities like horticulture, fitness, and music classes. We are grateful for all this team does for people who attend their day program!

Recreation & Respite's bowling group wrapped up its season this past Saturday with a special tribute to one of their own: Noah Kaforey. Noah passed away earlier this year and was lovingly celebrated at Bowl-A-Roll Lanes with commemorative LEGO trophies made specially for The Arc by The BrickLab. Noah loved Legos, and his parents, Ray and Lisa, were on-hand to present the awards in honor of Noah to the bowlers. Everyone in the bowling group got a mini trophy, while Edward was given the “Enthusiastic Bowling” award.

It was a beautiful Sunday in Fairport to celebrate the 2024 Steel Rail Revival! We were honored to be the co-beneficiary of this year’s event, along with the Pirate Toy Fund. It was a day full of love, camaraderie and amazing music! And the CAC Rhapsodies brought the house down at Country Roads to round out the evening! A huge thanks to all the musicians, volunteers, the entire Steel Rail committee, and to our friend, Steve Bartolotta Music, for his enormous heart. (It’s as big as his talent!)

PrideAbility members, The Arc of Monroe staff, and people we support were proud to walk alongside hundreds of other local organizations this past weekend for the Rochester Pride Parade! And thank you Community Arts Connection for making the float decorations and the pins that were given out.
